10 Day You Challenge: 9 Loves

9. Sundays.
I love Sundays because I get to go to  Summit Church and worship the Lord with some amazing friends. Afterwards we usually go somewhere for a delicious lunch. Even though the afternoon calls for lots of homework, it's a great day overall. I also loves Sundays because this is the day I do my grocery shopping!

8. Hot Pink.
While pink is an all around great color, Hot Pink is my favorite shade of any color. How do I know Hot Pink is my favorite color? Simple. If something is Hot Pink, I get ten times more excited about it than if it was any other color!

7. Sleeping with my Window Open.
...Especially when it's raining and it smells like fall outside. I get so excited on nights when it's cool enough to sleep with my window up so when I wake up it smells like fall inside my room! If it's raining that night, my excitement just triples.

6. Hello Kitty
I always loved Hello Kitty as a little girl. My MeMe used to always take me to the Sanrio store at Crabtree Valley Mall and my eyes would just light up at all the Hello Kitty goodness. I still use my Hello Kitty hairdryer from the 5th grade that is partially broken and my most recent Hello Kitty purchase has been a toaster!

5. Panera Mac N' Cheese
Simply put, if you've never had Panera Mac N' Cheese , you need to rush to your neighborhood Panera before you even read number four. It's amazing! While you're at it, make sure you get a MyPanera card if you don't already have one. Who doesn't love free pastries and smoothies?!

4. Watching Regis & Kelly
I love my schedule this semester because most mornings I get to watch Regis and Kelly.I am pretty bummed though because Regis is leaving in November and I know it will never be the same. My grandparents got me hooked on the show when I was a little girl because they would record it every morning and watch it together at night. They still do... precious!

3. Spending time with my friends and family without the stress of school.
Spending time with the ones I love is a blessing any day but...spending time with them when I don't have schoolwork  to do is the most exciting feeling. Because it's hard to fully enjoy myself when I have a paper or test in the back of my mind, I love getting my work done before hanging out!

2. Cleaning
This will shock my Mama. Before coming to college, I never enjoyed vacuuming, cleaning windows, dusting, or doing laundry. Now that I am "living on my own," I love keeping things neat and clean! I thank my Mama for always being this way because little did I know, she was instilling this love in me. :) Now I need her to teach me how to cook!

1. Gerbera Daisies
...and not just any Gerbera Daises, PINK Gerbera Daises. I love grocery shopping at Harris Teeter because they usually have small bouquets for only $4!

10 Day You Challenge: 10 Secrets

I've had a hard time being a consistent blogger lately so I've decided to try a "10 Day You Challenge" I found on this blog I follow. I hope she won't mind me copying! Today I am supposed to tell you 10 secrets! I don't feel very secretive but I'll give it a shot....

10. Sometimes I wish I was in kindergarten again so I could appreciate nap time more than I did back then. This reminds me...When I was in kindergarten, my teacher, Mrs. Mangum had a leopard Beanie Baby she would give to the student who "took the best nap." This was a problem for me because I could never fall asleep and I really wanted the Beanie Baby to sit on my desk for a whole day. What did I do? Well, I kept my eyes closed for the entire nap time one day to pretend I was asleep and guess who got the Beanie Baby?!

9. I like eating snacks way too much, which usually includes Wheat Thins or Pretzel M&Ms. (Jocelyn got me hooked on these :) In fact...Within the past couple days, I have eaten a whole bag (not the snack size!) of Pretzel M & Ms and nearly a whole box of Wheat Thins. I'm glad they're not called "Wheat Larges" because then I  would feel guilty for eating them. Actually... probably not.

8. I've been more homesick for my family this year than I was my freshman year. I guess I just love them more than ever! Confession: I saw my sister Kateleigh at the Brad Paisley concert this weekend and it made me want to hop in the car and go home with her afterwards. Even though I wish I didn't get homesick, I am so thankful we have become so close recently!

7. I'm having a hard time coming up with these secrets! I'm realizing most of these aren't necessarily "secrets" because I feel like there's at least one person who knew each of these "secrets" already.

6. I wish I had enjoyed high school more. I love college so much but there are time times when I wish I had of gone to more football games and enjoyed my days at HCHS more than I did. Looking back, everything seemed so "simple" compared to the stress of college, but I know I will look back one day saying how simple life was in college. It's the circle of life, right? :)

5. I struggle with prayer. A lot. I am so embarrassed that I do not go to God in prayer as often as I should to share with Him my every need and lift others up in prayer. Even though He already knows these things, it shows I have forgotten He is the source of my every need when I fail to pray.

4. I went inside the library this morning and came right back out because I much rather study in my room. I told myself all morning that today would be the day for a successful library trip, but I just couldn't bare that quiet and boring dungeon!

3. I still sleep with a Teddy Bear...Unashamedly. This is not just any Teddy Bear... his name is "Daddy Bear" (because my daddy gave him to me for Valentine's Day) and he has a story. I was so excited because when I arrived at the packaging center they handed me a huge box! As soon as I got outside, I sat down at a picnic table to open the package. Out came the largest teddy bear I had ever seen. I was so excited but figured I shouldn't walk all the way back to my dorm with a giant teddy bear in my hands so I put him back in his house until I got back to my room!

2.  I am a procrastinator at heart. Okay...that's probably not a secret at all but I have been realizing lately how much better I need to become at managing my time. It's something I am really trying to work on!

1. I've been trying to finish this post for two days. Yes, I am not very good at thinking of secrets!

Vlogging...

So I was reading one of the blogs I follow today and came across a  vlog she had posted. There is a trend going around in the blogging world where bloggers create a video in which they repeat a list of words and answers a set of questions that are considered to sound different when pronounced by different people with different accents.

Well...since most people I know at Carolina seem to think I have a southern accent, I thought it would be fun to do my own little vloggy!

Here are the words and questions:

Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught

What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you use to change the TV channel?

So do you think I have an accent too? Let me know what you think and go do your own vlog...you'll have loads of fun!

Psalm 34

I found this passage to be so encouraging this morning and I wanted to share it with y'all. It was a great reminder to me that God is the only thing I need to experience true fulfillment. Hope everyone has a blessed Thursday! "Taste and see that the Lord is good." :)

Psalm 34

New International Version (NIV)
    Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left. 1 I will extol the LORD at all times;
   his praise will always be on my lips.
2 I will glory in the LORD;
   let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
3 Glorify the LORD with me;
   let us exalt his name together.
 4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me;
   he delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant;
   their faces are never covered with shame.
6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;
   he saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him,
   and he delivers them.
 8 Taste and see that the LORD is good;
   blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
9 Fear the LORD, you his holy people,
   for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
   but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
11 Come, my children, listen to me;
   I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 Whoever of you loves life
   and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil
   and your lips from telling lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good;
   seek peace and pursue it.
 15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,
   and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil,
   to blot out their name from the earth.
 17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them;
   he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted
   and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
 19 The righteous person may have many troubles,
   but the LORD delivers him from them all;
20 he protects all his bones,
   not one of them will be broken.
 21 Evil will slay the wicked;
   the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
22 The LORD will rescue his servants;
   no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
